Job Description*This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. This role is a Monday to Friday schedule. **
The Electrician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all high and low voltage electrical distribution systems and components are in conformance with local and national standards.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all electrical high voltage switch gear / boards, circuits and control panels including emergency power equipment and low voltage control systems.
- Maintains inventory of spare parts to maintain and repair hospital electrical systems.
- Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
- Requisitions, prepares, and assembles materials, tools, supplies, and equipment for work to be performed.
- Performs or directs all electrical circuiting work.
- Maintains receptacles, ground fault circuits and power switching devices in proper working order.
- Replaces fault switches, plugs and other parts of electrical systems and fixtures.
- Installs new wiring and equipment.
- Inspects and performs safety tests on electrical equipment and systems, isolates defects.
- Retains instruction manuals, blueprints, and other related materials.
- Maintains other electrical systems such as fire protection, nurse call, building mechanical control systems, security, and life safety systems.
- Prepares required reports.
- Project management assignment on electrical equipment replacements as assigned by engineering manager.
- Maintains UHF 2 –way radios and system broadcast capabilities. Maintains emergency radio med channels and associated broadcast equipment.
Required:
- 4 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
- IBEW "A" Class journeyman rating
Preferred:
- CPI Certified
- Data/Voice cabling certification (Low Voltage Cabling)
