SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 8,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer's specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond tradition manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reads electrical schematics, specifications, shop notes, general arrangement and process flow diagrams and drawings.
- Reads measuring devices such as electrical meters, tape measures, rulers and pressure gauges.
- Mounts and installs electrical components such as control panels, junction boxes, switches, transmitters and level controllers.
- Runs conduit and wire according to drawings, specifications, shop notes and other project documentation.
- Performs electrical and mechanical tests on assembled components.
- Disassembles components to replace defective parts or to prepare them for shipping.
- Operates a variety of portable hand, electric and air powered tools such as tubing benders, torque wrenches, combination wrenches, sockets, ratchets, band saw and grinders.
- Operates stationary tools such as large bore tubing benders, bench grinder, iron worker, drill press and chop saw.
- On occasion operates lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and jib cranes.
- Records serial numbers and other information as required in ITP (inspection test plan).
- Reports problems to line supervisor for assistance.
- Perform job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
- Reports potentially unsafe equipment and safety hazards to supervisor for immediate resolution.
- Has extensive knowledge of electrical area classifications and codes.
- Effectively follows oral and written instructions and communicates them to others as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
- Actively participates in teaching and developing other employees.
- Actively participates in product development and improvements.
Required education or minimum level:
- High school education (GED)
Experience:
- 4+ years in compression related assembly or field environment.
Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16"
- Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals and whole numbers.
- Must have basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.
- Must be familiar with Safety and OSHA requirements.

- Works in industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
