About the Job
Electrical Worker II (EWII) positions perform a variety of sub-journey level maintenance and repair of electrical circuits, motors and controls used in large metropolitan water distribution and wastewater treatment facilities.
The EWII position is a sub-journey level position that may promote to the job of Electrical Technician. Promotion to each level in this career path requires successful completion of performance standards, the application, and exam process.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A solid understanding of hand and power tools used in the electrical trade
• Mechanical ability and knowledge of arithmetic and mechanical principles
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and relevant Electrical Safety Orders
• Ability to read shop drawings and electrical diagrams
The salary range is $7,741 per month increasing to $8,128, $8,534, $8,961 after 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively.

Requirements:
1. A high school diploma or its equivalent.
2. Twelve months of experience equivalent to East Bay Municipal Utility District’s (EBMUD’s) Electrical Worker I classification.
3. Possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
EBMUD candidates must have achieved satisfactory completion of the On-the-Job Training (OJT), vocational school, and self-study courses specified in the EBMUD’s Maintenance Trades Program for Electrical Technicians, including supervisory certification of proficiency. Must advance to the Electrical Worker III within 18 months of appointment.
Completion of an accredited community college or comparable certificate program in electrical technology or closely related field, acceptable to EBMUD, may be substituted for the required 12 months of experience.
In addition to requirements listed, qualified candidates for the EWII must:
• Possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job.
• Be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and work overtime as needed.
