G&A Partners' client is currently seeking an Electrical Utility Coordinator/ Graduate Engineer to join its team in Austin, TX.
Summary
The Electrical Utility Designer will be performing many engineering and coordination project duties focusing on Utility network infrastructure such as telecommunications cable, internet fiber lines and electrical power lines.
Responsibilities:- Working on utility relocations & coordination projects in Austin
- Continuous coordination and communications in person, by phone & email with clients, designers, and utility representatives to ensure project construction schedules are met
- Analysis of project infrastructure designs such as substations and power to infrastructure
- Collaborating with urban designers, real estate agents, developers, utility engineers, and roadway engineers to develop the optimal project design solutions
- Mapping, Identifying and Resolving utility conflicts with project infrastructure in the most feasible and time sensitive manner
- Inputting utility information into MicroStation V8i, and creating Utility Layouts & plan sheets for utility relocation designs
- Inputting, formatting, tracking and sharing utility project data in Excel
- Utility designs should be in compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations by becoming well versed with the interpretation of the City of Austin and Austin Energy Utilities Criteria Manual
Required Qualifications include:
- Strong communication skills, scheduling, task management, and problem solving skills
- Experience working with electrical utility companies
- Proficient in MS Office
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in the Corridor Program Office and in the Utility Coordination Program
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university preferred but not required
- Job site field experience
- Ability to work in dynamic team environment on several team projects
