About the Job
Calspan's Tire Indoor Research Facility is a world leader in the indoor measurement of force & moment data on tires. With Customers including leading vehicle manufacturers, tire manufacturers and motor-sports organizations, Calspan is always improving and advancing the science.
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to provide technician support to testing and engineering through operating, troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining of electrical and computer test equipment; Working with Staff and customers in a fast paced precision test lab supporting major motor-sports and automotive companies around the world.
Responsibilities:Must be able to work 2nd Shift.
- Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
- Perform set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering and checkout before, during and after the test.
- Support the maintenance, installation and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
- Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation.
Preferred Education / Experience:
- AAS or BS in Electrical or Engineering Technology or related discipline
- 3+ years in related discipline or;
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Troubleshooting electrical problems
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Perform operations and execute moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
- Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
- Read drawings and troubleshoot
- Microsoft Office
