SOFTWARE ENGINEER
JOB SUMMARY
Develop, test, and maintain software and hardware components that interface with our elevators to monitor and provide the user interface to control the overall system. This position exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- System Design: Collaborate with cross-functional team to design and modify software and hardware to meet customer needs.
- System Implementation: Work closely with branch offices and customers to ensure proper integration of software and hardware components at installation sites.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of software design, architecture, and code changes to facilitate collaboration and support future maintenance.
- Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for existing destination dispatch and monitoring systems, addressing performance issues, and resolving software bugs.
- Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and standards related to elevator systems and ensure software compliance with safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of software development processes and best practices to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the elevator systems.
- Tool Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools used in conjunction with the dispatch and monitoring systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) certification also desirable.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, and Java.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux based operating systems.
- Knowledge of hardware-software interfacing and communication protocols.
- Understanding of network infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of elevator systems and industry-specific standards or building standards preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS
- Job duties are performed mainly within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
- Short-term travel to the jobsite is possible during hardware installation phase. Will need to communicate directly with site teams for troubleshooting.
