Selectek has a full-time opportunity for a talented Electrical Software Engineer to join our team at a leading Mechanical Design and Engineering Firm in Waynesboro, PA. You'll play a vital role in developing and implementing innovative control systems for our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded control software using C language.
- Apply your knowledge of control theory and state machines to create efficient systems. (CANOpen experience a plus!)
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to translate concepts into specifications, code, and tested software. (We work both in simulations and on real cranes!)
- Contribute to the design, improvement, testing, and analysis of new products.
- Prepare technical documents and reports as needed.
- Oversee and guide test engineers (think mentorship!).
- Assist other departments with manuals and sales literature related to your projects.
- Foster a collaborative and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or currently enrolled in a 4-year program with 9+ years of engineering experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, preferably with software development.
- Strong understanding of embedded C programming, control theory, and state machines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in various environments (think offices, factories, and potentially climbing a 12ft ladder).
- Potential for occasional domestic and international travel (up to 5%).
Bonus Points:
- Experience with analog and digital control theory, embedded control systems, MATLAB, and Simulink.
