About the Job
The Electrical Service Technician Supervisor oversees a team of electrical service technicians to ensure that electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work is completed efficiently and safely. The Supervisor provides technical guidance, assigns tasks, ensures compliance with safety standards, and works closely with management to ensure that all customer needs are met.
This role is ideal for someone with extensive electrical service experience who is ready to take on a leadership position while continuing to play a hands-on role in troubleshooting and guiding a team of technicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Supervision
- Manage and oversee the daily activities of electrical service technicians, including task assignments, performance monitoring, and ensuring the team meets deadlines.
- Work Scheduling
- Plan and coordinate service tasks and jobs, ensuring the appropriate allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Technical Support
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex electrical issues, helping technicians with diagnostics and problem resolution.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety standards, company policies, and local and national electrical codes. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Quality Control
- Review and inspect completed work to ensure it meets customer expectations and quality standards and complies with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Training & Development
- Provide training and mentorship to electrical technicians, helping them grow their skills and knowledge.
- Customer Interaction
- Communicate directly with customers to understand their needs, resolve concerns, and provide progress updates. Ensure excellent customer service is provided throughout the project.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and personnel involved. Prepare and submit reports as required by management.
- Inventory Management
- Assist in ordering and managing supplies and equipment, ensuring that the necessary tools and materials are available for all jobs.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with the Electrical Service Manager and other supervisors to coordinate work schedules, manage resources, and address any operational challenges.
- Problem-Solving
- I handle escalated service calls and technical issues, providing fast, effective solutions to minimize customers’ downtime.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or vocational training in electrical work is preferred.
- Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical service, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and industry standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for complex electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
