Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Electrical Service Manager position. This position is a contract to direct OR potential direct hire from start. It will be on-site in the Orlando / Central Florida area, and will be expected to be a long-term career opportunity.
Summary
The Electrical Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of electrical service projects by efficiently managing service requests, scheduling technicians, coordinating resources, overseeing project execution, mitigating risks, adhering to standards and regulations, fostering collaboration among fellow employees, and ultimately meeting client expectations while maintaining high-quality standards in electrical installations or systems, and safety.

Job Description:
- Leadership & Team Management
- Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to a group of service technicians. Ensure the team has the required tools, materials, and software to develop and maintain adequate proficiency.
- Develop and maintain a collaborative and high-performing team culture to emphasize accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set clear expectations, goals, and objectives for the service team members to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Ensure service technicians are executing at a quality level appropriate for their projects, customers, and experience, with accountability for the project results.
- Provide development opportunities and ensure employees are being developed for continuous improvement.
- Manage staff actions such as hiring, and disciplinary actions in conjunction with field labor supervisor, as needed for direct staff.
- Lead bi-weekly service team meetings and foster a collaborative engagement.
- Oversight and Coordination of Service Project Portfolio
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the service projects portfolio, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, communication standards and budgets.
- Project Estimating & Planning: Develop service project estimates including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Support customer questions, site walk-downs, technical questions, or other estimating & planning tasks needing project management support.
- Resource Management: Allocating & scheduling resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials effectively to ensure timely project completion. Ensure labor, material, tools, and equipment needs are met for each project.
- Manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints. Forecast costs, and control expenses to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with labor supervisor, project managers to develop project plans, resource allocation strategies, and risk management plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or obstacles, and implement corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
- Quality Control: Monitor work quality to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Compliance: Ensure service projects are conducted in compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and company and industry safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Accounts Receivable Management - generate invoices, follow up on overdue payments, send monthly statements to clients with past due billings, maintain good client relationships to ensure payments are made on schedule, and support company reporting requirements for AR.
- Accounts Payable management, maintain positive relationships with vendors, assist purchasing dept with inquiries and discrepancies, and provide regular reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Consistently monitor and maintain Sage parts database to ensure electrical parts used are being sold at acceptable margins over cost.
- Client Management
- Develop & Manage client relationships for current ongoing projects, ensuring Service technicians are fulfilling their responsibilities for client management.
- Performance Management & Key Metrics
- Establish KPIs for the leadership of the Service team and their projects, use leading indicators to extent possible (to be developed).
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback and share KPIs for the Service project portfolio with management staff and other operational leaders.
- Use metrics & feedback to foster a culture of continuous improvement & best practice sharing.
- Conducting Post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned, areas for improvement, and best practices. Support company efforts to incorporate lessons learned and best practices in other projects.
- Evaluate project performance and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project as well as organizational efficiency and quality,
- Represent Firm & articulate competitive strengths for client and partner interactions.
- Support service department & business development by organically following-up with service client base regularly via on-site visits, email, or phone calls. Help attain possible new service clients through targeted communication efforts, and construction organizations that are partners in projects.
Qualified candidates would have the following:
- Construction estimating: 3 year (Required)
- Project management: 3 year (Required)
- Microsoft Outlook: 3 year (Required)
- Bluebeam: 1 year (Preferred)
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred

- Site visits frequently required, with site conditions to be encountered (hard hat, work boots, hot weather, use of PPE, lifting, etc.)
