In support of this Purpose, the Electrical & Controls Group Leader (E&C GL) will develop a Best-In-Class Electrical and Controls Group.
Fusion is a company of LEADERS; we have NO MANAGERS. There are often just too many great ideas to execute in a short amount of time. At Fusion, we have a team-based participative leadership model and expect all Team Members to participate.
As a Leader, the E&C GL will lead the ENVISIONING of the Electrical Systems and Control Systems future for Fusion. Therefore, the E&C GL will need to ENGAGE others through building strong and collaborative relationships and ENERGIZE/inspire others in developing Strategies and Action Plans to achieve that vision. The E&C GL will ENSURE EXECUTION with EXCELLENCE. And our environment is constantly evolving so the E&C GL will need to continuously EVALUATE and react quickly and modify Strategies/Action Plans as necessary.
The E&C GL will lead Electrical & Controls Engineers and Designers on 1) Scope-Based projects, and 2) Dedicated Services roles. The E&C GL will ensure SYSTEMS are in place and in compliance to enable projects consistently meet and sometimes exceed Client and Fusion expectations. The E&C GL will be responsible for meeting the Group Development objectives as well as the Individual developmental objectives of Group’s Team Members.
Key Strategic Responsibilities
- Capability & Capacity Action Planning/Execution
At Fusion, success starts with developing a deep understanding our Clients’ needs. The E&C GL will be responsible for leading the translation of those Clients/Programs’ requirements, and emerging needs, into the Group’s capability and capacity Action Plans.
The E&C GL will also ensure that Fusion’s capabilities and capacity are consistent with Industry Standards, Best Practices and Trends (as appropriate). The E&C GL will integrate Fusion’s Innovation Strategies into the Project Management Group’s Plans and ensure that Team Members’ Professional Development Plans are met.
- Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs
- Hire, train, and supervise E&C Team Members
- Develop and maintain a network of E&C Engineering & Design Resources/Strategic Alliances that might be utilized to meet capacity-capability gaps (surges, droughts).
- Lead Research & Development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects management processes
- Communicate and collaborate with other leaders, suppliers, and contractors
- Electrical & Control Systems Project Development/Execution
In this role, the E&C GL will also be responsible for enabling the success of engineering projects by ensuring that best-value Project Management processes are in place and in compliance.
- Serve as a Coach to E&C Discipline Leaders providing technical expertise and counsel.
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects
- Verify the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by E&C Team Members.
- Conduct various quality assurance and control checks to verify the quality of current and completed projects.
- Proposal/Estimate Development, Project Delivery
- Ensure Proposal Development, Project Estimate Development, Contract Reviews are done with good quality and on time .
- Provide Leadership for key projects/portfolio of projects.
- Ensure the creation and execution of detailed project execution plans, processes, and procedures.

To best understand and meet the needs of our Clients, E&C Group Members are assigned to each Key Client Program and Key Industry Program Team. The E&C GL will work, either directly or through a E&C Team Member, with the Program Leaders to understand the Program’s requirement/emerging needs; the E&C GL will also help the Program Leaders understand the E&C Group’s needs/capacity for billable projects.

The E&C GL can be evaluated based on the following metrics:
