Overview:
The Electrical Panel Builder will read and interpret related schematics, diagrams and drawings and build, assemble and test industrial control panels. Will be responsible for communicating with necessary supervisors, project managers and others to ensure seamless fabrication processes. Additionally, will be responsible for quality control. Schedule will be Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities:- Fabricate, assemble, build, wire, and test industrial control panels.
- Final assembly of electro-mechanical systems.
- Responsible for shop floor quality control, including inspection, testing, documentation, and UL certification requirements.
- Check-in and track project material.
- Communicate with shop supervisor, project managers, engineers, and customers to resolve issues.
- Ensure internal and client defined standards and scope are maintained.
- Assist with managing shop supplies and project inventory.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and physical layout drawings.
- Performs other duties as required.
2-5 years of experience in panel building, design, process control, PLC systems and hardware.
- Hands-on experience in fabricating, building, wiring, testing, and inspecting control panels:
- Ability to wire using elementaries and point to point wiring diagrams.
- Ability to provide mechanical build (layout of backplate, drilling, tapping, component layout)
- Ability to use appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Experience with final assembly of electro-mechanical systems:
- Pneumatic valve/manifold assembly and plumbing.
- Conduit routing and assembly.
- Motor installation, wiring, and testing.
- Physical/mechanical installation of electrical devices.
- Industrial Automation skid final assembly and testing.
- Completely comprehend and have a working knowledge of 120VAC and 24VDC wiring circuits.
- Knowledge of common electrical components such as breakers, disconnect switches, starters, relays, timers, PLCs, VFDs, contactors, overloads, etc.
- Knowledge of UL508A and NEC. Experience building and inspecting panels to these standards.
- Excellent knowledge of circuits and industrial automation electronics.
- Knowledge of applicable safety rules and procedures, including OSHA.
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to work carefully and accurately.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Field commissioning required includes being able to stand for long periods of time and having the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
