Under the Plant Manager's guidance, provide maintenance support for mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimal plant efficiency. Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety guidelines while maintaining a clean maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all OSHA safety requirements for maintenance operations.
- Complete required OSHA or corporate training before performing tasks.
- Wear appropriate PPE for each task.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance under the Maintenance Manager's direction.
- Install or repair pumps, motors, conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide repair solutions.
- Conduct basic electrical tasks, including wiring motors and control panels.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
- Ensure all safety documentation is completed before work.
- Communicate effectively with production staff and management.
- Coordinate and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
- Meet safety targets set by management.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with air pumps, PD pumps, pneumatic valves, and gearboxes.
- Ability to install and wire 100 hp electric motors and VFDs.
- Strong problem-solving skills for mechanical equipment.
- Operate forklifts and similar equipment.
- Order parts and manage paperwork.
- Attend safety meetings and conduct audits.
- Computer proficiency.
- Welding certifications and strong pipe fitting skills.
- Read technical documents effectively.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Background in asphalt-related products or equipment.
- Advanced education in engineering or technical fields.
- Understanding of boiler or hot oil systems.
- Must have 20/20 or corrected vision.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Full range of motion for various physical tasks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs safely.
- Comfortable working at heights over 40 feet.
- Work in varying temperature conditions.
