About the Role:
As an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic, you'll bring your top-notch electrical skills to the forefront, specializing in critical tasks that keep our airport's systems powered and running flawlessly. Whether it's troubleshooting wiring issues, maintaining lighting systems, or ensuring the integrity of our electrical grids, you'll ensure everything operates as smoothly as a well-tuned aircraft engine. Beyond your daily duties, you'll also be our dependable co-pilot during weather challenges, tackling everything from clearing snow to prepping for hurricanes to ensure our airport never misses a beat. Ready to join us in keeping our 24/7 operation soaring smoothly? The position is scheduled for 2nd shift which is from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Compensation:
- $22.02 - $32.92
What You’ll Do:
- Maintains and repairs 3 phase; 5000 volt, 480/277 volt and 208/120 volt electrical systems
- Checks operation and performs preventive maintenance and repairs for Airfield lighting and control system.
- Checks operation of and performs preventative maintenance and repairs for emergency power generators, automatic transfer switches, mobile generator sets, electrical vaults, motorized gates, sluice gates, and electric deer fence
- Repair and maintenance of traffic signals, lighting systems on the street, parking lots and the parking deck using aerial lifts, bucket trucks, ladders, and scaffolding
- Locate underground utilities (electrical, water, sewer)
- Checks and repairs sewer lift stations and irrigation pump station including motors, pumps, control circuitry, alarm circuitry, and equipment as needed
- Assists with snow removal efforts and other inclement weather-related needs.
- Working an on-call shift determined by co-worker rotation for response to emergency situations.
- Performs related work in support of grounds keeping and maintenance functions (grass cutting, painting, fence repair, masonry, cleaning)
- Supports airport emergencies, special events, and irregular operations to include extreme weather events.

- High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Associate degree or Apprentice Program
Experience:
Required:
- 2 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade
Preferred:
- 4 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade
Licenses or Certifications:
Required:
- Valid NC Driver’s License
- CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9 months)
Preferred
- NC Registered Journeyman's Certificate
