Electrical and Instrumentation Technician 2nd Class
Location: Lisbon, Connecticut
Compensation: $42 - $43 per hour + OT
Sign-On Bonus: $3,500
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Technician for our facility in Lisbon, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Perform electrical preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations with minimal supervision
- Complete and document work orders and requisitions
- Respond to emergency repairs during off-hours when required
- Travel to other company facilities for technical support as needed
- Proactively address improvement opportunities
- Assume increased responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Complete required Corporate and Plant Training Programs
- Use basic and precision measuring tools for maintenance tasks
- Follow safety procedures and report hazards promptly
- Work overtime and rotating shifts during outages or as requested
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose problems with minimal supervision
- Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, and skid steer loaders
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance, or 2 years as a 3rd class E&I Technician with required instrumentation training
- Relevant licenses as required by State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The role involves working in a noisy environment and requires the ability to:
- Stand, sit, walk, and handle tools for prolonged periods
- Climb heights greater than 4 feet
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Navigate all plant areas, including catwalks and uneven surfaces
- Operate fire safety equipment
- Access confined spaces through standard 12" by 16" manways
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The job may require the use of various PPE, including:
- Respirators (negative and positive pressure)
- Self-contained breathing apparatus
- Hardhat, safety shoes, and eye protection
- Chemical and heat resistant outerwear
- Hearing protection and safety harness
