Electrical Inspector located in Fairbanks!

This position is in the Labor, Trades and Crafts Unit (LTC) at a Range 49.
What You Will Be Doing:
State electrical inspectors perform electrical inspections on new, altered, added and temporary installations on all buildings from residential triplex to commercial and industrial applications. In addition, inspectors assist electrical contractors and industry professionals with understanding and complying with the code.
Electrical inspectors perform license verification and take appropriate enforcement action for electrical and plumbing Certificates of Fitness and contractor licensing, electrical and mechanical administrator enforcement within statutory, regulatory, and policy guidelines.

The mission of Mechanical Inspection is to ensure public safety through the regulation and inspection of various commercial and industrial trades and devices. The section regulates electrical and plumbing installations, boilers and pressure vessels, and elevators and amusement rides statewide. This mission is accomplished through licensure of regulated trades, and statewide inspections of regulated trades and equipment. Mechanical Inspection staff are committed to serving Alaska through effective regulation of these trades while working with industry and trade partners. As part of the field inspection team, you will be in the field most of the workday, providing inspections for construction projects.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located in the Fairbanks State Office Building. This position has daily interaction with the public during field inspections of worksites and answering questions related to trade licensing requirements.
This position requires daily use of a state vehicle to perform field inspections.
