ELECTRICAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY:
The role of this candidate is to troubleshoot, maintain, manage, and upgrade electromechanical systems (including pumps, motors, and controls) to ensure the safe and economical distribution of electricity. The individual in this role will complete assigned tasks in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70 Electrical Safety, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) safety standards. Additionally, the Electrical Field Service Technician will work according to OEM specifications and drawings. This essential employee is responsible for the overall electrical operations and maintenance of processes and equipment on-site during emergencies and/or disasters, following department rules, state regulations, policies, and procedures.
ELECTRICAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues (typical 110V to 480V; single or three-phase; 60Hz).
- Responds to emergency calls for various types of electrical failures and shutdowns.
- Maintains, manages, and upgrades existing electromechanical and electronic installations and systems.
- Provide electrical support to all team members to ensure quality control for the purpose of meeting and/or exceeding electrical code and standards.
- Develop a scope of work, cost estimate, plan a work schedule (conduit, wiring, and controls) for end-users.
- Provides preventive maintenance ensuring safe and clean operating conditions.
- Research technical product specifications.
- Prepares and updates various records, logs, and reports related to the work being performed.
- Inspects field locations to determine appropriate types and placement of electrical components for installation.
- Assists in the inventory control management of electrical parts and components to provide appropriate supply levels.
- Communicate project goals manager prior to the notice to proceed (NTP) from the end-user.
- Create, influence, and maintain schedules for proper resource utilization andmaterial usage.
- Provide electrical support to all team members to ensure quality control for thepurpose of meeting and/or exceeding electrical code and standards.
- Responsible for effectively communicating using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel,PowerPoint, and Outlook).
ELECTRICAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or a GED certificate
- 5+ years of electrical experience
- Journey Level Electrical Experience
- Experience with water / wastewater operations and maintenance
- Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class C)
- Must be familiar with budgetary needs, maintenance requirements, and PPE
- Must be able to effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams (written andspoken)
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 60 pounds in extreme inclement weather (hot orcold).
- Must be able to climb ladders and fit into tight spaces
ELECTRICAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday (7:00am – 4:00pm) Overtime, Weekend, Holidays and/or Disaster Recovery (when applicable).
