The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects in both commercial and industrial sectors. This role involves analyzing project requirements, collaborating with clients and contractors, and ensuring that all estimates align with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of electrical work required.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment needed for electrical projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in estimates.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions.
- Maintain and update a database of costs for labor, materials, and equipment to support accurate estimating.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering options when applicable.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contracts.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input regarding budgeting and cost management.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably with electrical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
