Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to become an integral part of our dynamic team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our project bidding process by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various electrical projects.
Responsibilities:
- Project Review: Thoroughly review project specifications, drawings, and related documentation to gain a deep understanding of the scope and requirements.
- Material and Labor Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to ensure precise and competitive estimates.
- Vendor and Supplier Collaboration: Engage with vendors and suppliers to obtain up-to-date pricing and negotiate favorable terms to enhance project cost-effectiveness.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Proficiently interpret electrical blueprints and specifications, extracting relevant information essential for accurate estimation.
- Estimating Software Utilization: Leverage industry-standard estimating software (Sage) and tools to streamline the estimation process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Cost Breakdowns:** Provide clear and comprehensive breakdowns of estimated costs, highlighting key components and potential areas for value engineering.
- Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and competitors to contribute to the development of competitive and profitable bids.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address queries, provide clarification, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks that may impact project costs, proposing mitigation strategies to enhance overall project success.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and organized records of estimates, ensuring that documentation is readily available for internal and external reviews. Generate reports summarizing key estimation metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Journeyman or Master Electrician, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or electrical contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
