Job Overview:
This position is responsible for supporting construction and preconstruction divisions in preparing electrical estimates across all market segments, including obtaining quotations and managing subcontractors required for a project.
Opportunity for Growth:
Candidates interested in Project Management are encouraged to apply. There is potential for this role to be a hybrid Estimator/Project Manager position for the right candidate.
Essential Functions:
Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects.
Collaborate with management, the preconstruction team, project managers, and general foremen to compile detailed estimates within tight deadlines.
Interpret design drawings submitted by customers or engineers.
Read and understand project specifications.
Utilize estimating software to generate accurate project estimates.
Seek quotations for materials and subcontracts.
Key Requirements:
Minimum two-year degree in electrical construction or equivalent experience.
Experience with conceptual estimating, low voltage systems estimating, and design/build estimating is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and virtual meeting software.
Strong computerized estimating skills.
Familiarity with McCormick Estimating Software is preferred.
Positive attitude and a team player.
Ability to perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
