About the Job
Egan Company is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team! As part of our Electrical Construction team, the Estimator will work both internally and externally to grasp the electrical scope of projects and propose viable budgets. You'll play a critical role on the team and move projects forward by providing timely, accurate, and consistent estimates. With the flexibility of working hybrid, you can collaborate alongside team members with a blend of working in the office and remote.
Responsibilities

Develop plan & spec, design-build, and design-assist estimates.

Develop and communicate the trade-specific scope of work.

Review all architectural, structural, mechanical, and specialty systems drawings and specifications.

Write a scope letter spelling out assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.

Review all documents as they relate to the project.

Compile and develop a list of necessary subcontractors (minimum three per trade).

Develop subcontractor scopes and vet them out as they come in.

Communicate Request For Proposal (RFP), scope, and coordination items.

Compile a list of required materials and equipment as it relates to the project.

Attend pre-bid conferences, walkthroughs, and regular job site visits to see the project during construction.

Entry of take-offs into Accubid Anywhere.

Making sure extension labor & materials are current.

Assist in the development of budget estimates.

Develop standardized assemblies and unit costs.

Review project schedule and phasing requirements.

Understand plan for constructability: material handling, pre-fabrication, means and methods, identify risk.

Identify general condition needs: tools required, equipment rentals, lifts and miscellaneous.

Participate in project turnover and setup.

Participate in post-project reviews.

Participate in the design meetings with customers until GMP.

Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed.
Requirements:

2-year associate’s degree is required
-
5-10 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in a related industry
Qualifications:
-
Experience with computerized estimating software, including Accubid Anywhere highly preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawings.

Working knowledge of codes in the electrical discipline (National Electrical Code).

Ability to size electrical power conduit and wire.

Excellent organizational and communication skills including customer follow-through required.

Proficiency in the use of standard computer programs such as MS Project, Google Suite Applications, PDF File Editor programs, Word, Bluebeam, and Excel.

Effectively work with tight deadlines and schedules.

Ability to review equipment, solicit pricing, and negotiate favorable terms as needed.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions:
-
Performance of duties will be in the office, at customer sites, and job sites as needed.
-
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
-
Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites.

Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
