About the Job
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs engineering studies and writes reports documenting findings and recommendations.
- Provides high level design direction to junior project design staff and review junior staff work for completeness and accuracy.
- Edits project specifications.
- Reads codes and standards to ensure code compliant designs.
- Manages project team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Monitors project budget throughout design.
- Coordinates with vendors and agencies to complete the design.
- Conducts site visits to confirm existing conditions and perform job site observations.
- Reviews and responds to RFIs and submittals.
- Communicates with others.
- Uses Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other software.
- Continues education through seminars, classes, and additional readings.
- Performs quality control reviews of projects designed by others.
- Supervises electrical design staff.
- Provides technical expertise to other staff members.
- Assists project teams in resolving electrical-related field issues.
- Develops and maintain master standards, details, and specifications.
- Develops technical design guides.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in electrical engineering or related field, professional engineering license, and 12+ years experience; or no engineering degree and 15+ related experience and/or training.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and vendors.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Revit, and Bluebeam.
