Electrical Engineer at AKKODIS

Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Syracuse, NY (Hybrid). You will be responsible for designing electrical power systems, focusing on substation and auxiliary systems for AIS and GIS substations.

 

Rate Range: $50/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

 

Electrical Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Designing electrical power systems, including substation and auxiliary systems for AIS and GIS substations.

• Routing and designing conduit/duct banks, including layout and fill calculations per NEC standards.

• Designing substation ground grids and low-voltage power distribution systems.

• Creating AC/DC panel schedules, load balancing, cable ampacity verification, and equipment specifications.

• Developing outdoor floodlight (illumination) designs in compliance with NESC.

• Collaborating with the project lead engineer to develop design criteria and document deliverables.

• Creating single line diagrams, layout & section drawings, and BOMs for substation design packages.

• Performing studies and analysis to ensure system efficiency and safety.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems and substation design.

• Strong knowledge of conduit/duct bank routing, low voltage power distribution, and substation ground grid design.

• Experience in designing AC/DC panel schedules, load balancing, and outdoor flood-light systems.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour
