Electrical Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Salary Range: $108,000 - $120,000
Electrical Engineer Position
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with expertise in vetronics and power distribution systems for military combat vehicles. This role involves the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic systems, ensuring compliance with industry and military standards while driving innovation in defense technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, derive, and manage system requirements to meet project goals.
- Design and integrate vehicle electrical, signal, network, and power distribution systems.
- Conduct trade studies, create electrical power budgets, and develop system architectures.
- Support system-integration lab (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) activities.
- Troubleshoot, analyze test results, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop and review schematics, drawings, specifications, and integration plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems, or a related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in vetronics and military vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in standard bus protocols (CANBus, Ethernet, Serial) and lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with C5ISR systems, military standards, and DoD acquisition processes.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex concepts.
- Eligibility to obtain a SECRET U.S. Defense clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of TACOM/TARDEC/GVSC organizations.
- Experience with German language skills is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for long periods.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
