Electrical Engineer - Albin Engineering Services, Inc.

Albin Engineering Services, Inc. (www.aesi.com) is looking for an Electrical Engineer for one of our premier clients in the Santa Cruz, CA area. As their employee, you qualify for our full benefit package. This position is onsite.

The Opportunity: We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to help us develop new electronic designs to keep the product range relevant to current market demands. You will be responsible for the specification and design of electronic circuits and associated firmware/software for the control of x-ray tubes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage development project activities to deliver project milestones on time, and in full.
• Record and disseminate results clearly and appropriately. 
• Own and develop embedded control architecture across the X-Ray Technology family of power supplies.
• Network with the wider technical community and contribute to the product road map to keep us at the leading edge of relevant technology.
• Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably required by the Company.

Qualifications:​

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar engineering field
• At least 2 years of full-time work experience in a Electrical Engineer Entry-level candidates and candidates without industry experience will not be considered for this role. 
• Proven experience in role in which you owned and delivered a tangible product development or research project
• At least 3 years in an analog/mixed-signal design role
• Experience with analog electronic design, construction, debug, and test.
• Experience with schematic entry and PCB Layout.
• Software/firmware development experience with C/C++ or Python in an embedded environment.
• Experienced in developing firmware/software for Microcontroller/Microprocessors.
• Proven understanding of device drivers such as RS232/485, Embedded TCP/IP and Web Servers, I2C, SPI, USB Experience in working using source control tools
• Ability to communicate and collaborate in a matrix environment and work in partnership with development, product management, project management, operations, and services.
• Able to effectively communicate difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus, displaying accountability and ownership.
• Should be able to drive own projects without external monitoring

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with x-ray tubes and high voltage systems
• Experience of 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred) and thermal analysis
• Good understanding of database and IIoT principles
• Experience in Labview for data acquisition and analysis
• Experience managing small teams
