Location: De Pere, WI
Position Summary:
The R&D Electrical Engineer will work with a cross functional team to develop novel engineering solutions for the rapidly expanding Lithium-ion battery coating industry including hardware/software design and testing using advanced technology and equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Work within a cross-functional team of other electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineers to design, develop, and test new and/or improved technologies related to web-handling, coating, and drying for the lithium-ion battery market. Work will include the following engineering steps:
- Research and evaluate state of the art technologies and equipment to be incorporated in the overall machine design.
- Occasional troubleshooting/debugging of Durr LIB equipment at a customer site.
- Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.
Qualifications:
- Experienced Problem Solver, Inventive, Flexible
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- PLC programming experience with Siemens or Rockwell
- Other software scripting exposure
- Selection and integration of electrical hardware
- Design and troubleshooting experience with variable speed and servo drive systems.
- Ability to understand high-level process functionality.
- Previous experience associated with the successful start-up, integration or design of printing and coating lines is a plus
- Machine learning, machine vision, SCADA knowledge are also a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory duties.
Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to:
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on need. Overtime may be required.
Travel:
This position requires limited travel, around 15-20%. Travel can be both overnight and during the business day and can be both local and international.
