About the Job
L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager.
Under managerial direction, provide field support with an emphasis on work performed by a third-party contractor during construction and design, including the following:
- Ensure work complies with contract documents.
- Complete all required documents related to contracts.
- Support the inspection and quality control/quality assurance furnishing and installing of all material and equipment during close-out.
- Inspect communication construction projects, monitoring and coordinating several types of project activities.
- Support project managers during construction and design.
- Work with Resident Engineer in meeting the project goals.
- Support Project Manager Consultant ('PMC') / Consultant Construction Manager ('CCM').
- Attend project coordination meetings with stakeholders, prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
- Ensure all personnel, comply with safety requirements of the contract.
- Prepare reports regularly and in a timely manner, including, but not limited to: Daily reports, Quality and safety check lists, Field condition survey reports, Field Sketches, Scopes of work for change orders, estimates, additional work order packages, and other reports as required by the Construction Manager/PCEO.
- Prepare, submit, and coordinate necessary requests for railroad-supply services, such as flagging, access & protection, etc.
- Supervise employees and manage project budget, schedules, and construction activities.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing project management work such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting for large and/or complex projects.
- OSHA-30 Certification is required prior to starting the position, but is not required in order to apply.
- Completion of the 8-hour Lead Awareness Course is required prior to starting the position, but is not required in order to apply.
- Ability to read and interpret Contract drawings & specifications.
- Proficient in MS Word, Access, and Excel. Computer Aided Design & Drafting ('CADD') experience, preferred.
- Communicates effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
- In-depth knowledge and/or experience with mass transit operations & facilities preferable.
- Knowledge and/or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations.
- Knowledge and/or experience with construction scheduling and estimating.
