Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for comprehensive facility electrical designs, while guiding and assisting the designers assigned to your project team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand advanced electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices and be able to use these skills to produce the required design.
- Engineer of Record for projects developed under their direction.
- Have the ability to review the work of others and give specific directions to the project team to further the design.
- Provide mentorship to associates with less experience and training.
- Have a detailed knowledge in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support setting up projects and assist in project flow.
- Extensive knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices and the ability to apply them within the electrical design.
- Be able to develop calculations, design narratives and work plans to be used as the basis of design of power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules.
- In-depth understanding of the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design.
- Manage electrical portions of projects and budgets with limited oversight.
- Attending internal and client coordination meetings with the ability to give direction, make technical decisions and ensure project goals are met.
- Perform site visits and investigations with little or no supervision.
- Nurture relationships with clients to foster additional work.
- Expectation of technical and management growth to assume a more responsible role.
- Take personal ownership of the work produced.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with P.E. (required), 6+ years of proven relevant technical experience (required), military training, field experience.
- working in a professional A/E office, consulting firm, or construction contractor preferred.
- to travel as needed.
- in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
