Electrical Engineer - Lantech

Come join our Development and Validation Team in the Product Development Group at Lantech. You will be interpreting the packaging needs of our customers into functioning solutions on our innovative stretch wrap equipment!

Description of Duties:

• Develop new products that add significant value to Lantech customers
• Interpret customer needs to establish electrical product specifications
• Design electrical systems, write PLC logic and complete electrical documentation according to internal industry consensus and standards
• Ensure new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability and manufacturability
• Devise and conduct validation tests to ensure product quality
• Troubleshoot operational issues and devise short and long-term remedies
• Apply engineering theory to solve complex problems
• Lean and apply new skills as projects require
• Maintain knowledge of new technology and apply where appropriate
• Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with and support teammates and other colleagues
• Direct junior engineers, technologists and technicians as necessary
• Travel to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10% travel)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience designing or supporting industrial equipment
• Proficiency with PLC programming
• 2D drafting proficiency
• Familiarity with industrial machinery codes and directives

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with design of industrial machinery
• Studio 5000 or TIA Portal experience
• AutoCAD experience
• Specific knowledge of NFPA70/79, UL508A and CE Los Voltage Directive
• Text-based programming

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field, Master in Electrical Engineering is a plus
