Lead Electrical Engineer - Aviation & Federal Global Practice
Do you want to guide a team of talented engineers while staying connected to the market pulse? This position offers a dynamic blend of leadership and technical expertise. You'll lead our Aviation & Federal Global Practice's Electrical Department (approx. 10 direct reports), ensuring top-notch quality in designs and deliverables. You'll also dedicate a portion of your time to business development or technical support, keeping you engaged with the market and fostering client relationships.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Champion a culture of excellence by setting high standards for electrical and low voltage design.
- Mentor and coach your team, providing constructive feedback and fostering growth.
- Proactively address performance issues and project quality concerns.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
- Hold mid-year and year-end performance reviews, contributing to the department's overall success.
Technical Expertise & Project Management:
- Serve as a technical advisor, offering senior-level insights and project evaluations.
- Assist in establishing project goals, milestones, and procedures.
- Coordinate project resources and monitor progress across the company.
- Manage staff utilization and track progress towards individual billability goals.
Collaboration & Business Development:
- Support sales and marketing efforts by assigning staff to proposals, presentations, and related tasks.
- Partner with Regional Office staff on development, quality control, and resource coordination.
- Leverage your experience to contribute to business development, building strong client relationships.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and/or management experience.
- Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (strongly preferred).
- Prior Consulting experience (strongly preferred).
