Work Setup: Hybrid - 80-90% remote (must be 1-4 driving time hours from Cleveland for occasional office meetings)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)
Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for directing the electrical design team throughout the entire project cycle, from initial concept through to successful completion. You will oversee the organization, control, integration, and completion of the electrical discipline’s portion of a project, ensuring that goals and objectives are achieved according to the established scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards. In this role, you will be expected to possess sufficient technical expertise to recognize and resolve technical issues and initiate appropriate corrective actions as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Manage necessary resources for project execution.
- Collect and prepare data/information, perform detailed calculations, and write formal technical reports.
- Develop technical specifications and data sheets, perform technical evaluations of bids, and recommend the best value design that meets client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety.
- Serve as the main discipline interface to clients on electrical engineering issues and attend significant client meetings.
- Review calculations, vendor drawings, and technical documents.
- Develop, update, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and staffing forecasts, utilizing tools such as Project Schedules and Earned Value analysis.
- Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards, company specifications, and client contract terms.
- Develop and maintain monthly project status reports.
- Identify changes in scope that could affect project schedules or budgets.
Education, Experience, and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 10+ years of electrical systems design experience in a consulting organization.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology (accredited).
- Ohio PE license is a plus but not required.
- Working knowledge of single-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, and the application of NEC.
- Experience managing project teams (3-4 members).
- Experience with Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) or Front-End Loading (FEL) studies.
- Supervisory or checking experience in power distribution, substations, equipment specification, power system modeling, and electrical integration.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized for effective project planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
