Job Description: We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Davenport Works, the largest aluminum rolling mill in the U.S. As a key member of our Plate Finishing Department, you will provide electrical engineering services that support our production, maintenance, and engineering teams. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes, ensuring that our electrical systems are safely integrated with manufacturing operations and that our equipment is continuously upgraded and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of assigned electrical engineering projects, from concept to completion, including scope development, specification writing, bid solicitation, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
- Lead and participate in problem-solving efforts with multidisciplinary teams, including technical staff, maintenance, and production.
- Utilize PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and contribute to solving process problems.
- Develop and implement electrical control solutions to support process improvements and enhance equipment reliability.
- Assist production and maintenance teams with equipment and process issues.
- Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI controls and existing processes.
- Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
- Mentor employees to enhance their knowledge of equipment and processes as needed.
- Provide off-hours support as required.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (must be completed at the time of employment).
- At least 1 internship, co-op, or relevant work experience in electrical engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
- This position requires U.S. person status as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and motors, measuring devices, and Ethernet cameras.
- Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (e.g., RSLogix, Factory View).
- 3 years of experience leading electrical projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs.
Ideal Candidate:
- 1 year of experience in aluminum rolling/casting outside of internship/co-op roles.
