About the Job
The Electrical Engineer will support multiple sites in the ALTIVIA organization primarily but not limited to capital project design and implementation. It may be required that the engineer take on and lead small capital projects on their own. He/she will also be expected to participate in some routine troubleshooting of issues on an as needed basis. Industrial plant experience is required, but chemical plant experience is preferred. Instrumentation and DCS experience is NOT required but would be a plus.
Job Responsibilities
+ Participate in detailed project designs for large capital projects related to industrial processes and infrastructure, such as power distribution and control loop design.
+ Responsible for producing technical project plans, specifications, and drawings, including but not limited to electrical one-line diagrams, instrument loop drawings, and process & instrumentation diagrams.
+ May be required to lead smaller capital projects
+ Identify problems, troubleshoot, and make recommendations for any day-to-day issues that may arise related to electrical expertise.
+ Perform all appropriate calculations required for the electrical design packages and verify all applicable codes & requirements have been incorporated.
+ Follow all of ALTIVIA’s safety rules and requirements.
+ Participate in PHAs or other risk analysis where necessary
+ Participate in incident investigations where necessary
+ Develop preventive maintenance plans and reliability measures for equipment and systems
Requirements
+ BS in Electrical Engineering
+ 3+ years of industrial experience in Electrical Engineering
+ Self-motivated
+ Field electrical experience (power delivery, motors, drives, MCCs, transformers, heat trace, generators, etc.)
+ Familiar with ISA, NEC and NFPA design concepts
+ Capable of working with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders
+ Takes personal responsibility for safety of self and others in and out of the office. Considers safety first in designs.
+ Familiar with ERP system as it relates to procurement (SAP, Chempax, etc…)
+ Proficiency with Industrial PLC standards & protocols utilized by Rockwell. (DH+, Ethernet IP, DF1, etc.)
+ Proficiency with Industrial PLC standards & protocols utilized by Siemens. (Profibus, Profinet, MQTT, etc.)
Preferred
+ Field instrumentation experience (automated valves, transmitters, PLCs, DCS, etc.)
+ OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
+ Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) experience
+ Execution of SMRP (Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals) concepts
