Electrical Engineer
We have an immediate need for a Electrical Engineer to support one of the largest consulting clients in the world! This role will focus on practice, product development and procurement for clients across multiple industries. This is a year-long contract role.
Location: Hybrid in Chicago
This Job Pays: $35-40/hour plus benefits
What You Will Do:
- Reverse engineering of products and services
- Determination of critical product or materials specifications and feature/attribute comparisons
- Product cost modeling for design and procurement outcomes
- Evaluate and drive client growth and sustainability opportunities
- Work with teams to support client’s current and future portfolio
- Collocated at a client site with other consultants responsible for the diagnosis, analysis, and implementation of business initiatives tailored to help our clients improve margins and reduce costs.
- Work closely with client stakeholders to establish buy-in and grow client capabilities
- Other duties as assigned
What Gets You The Job:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or analogous technical degree required; Top programs preferred (E.g., MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Tech, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, etc) – Will also consider candidates with a master’s degree and experience in an internship setting.
- Strong record of academic performance; minimum GPA = 3.4
- 2 years of electrical design and manufacturing experience in roles such as R&D, testing and systems integration preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with PCBA design and manufacture including high-frequency PCB design, signal integrity and EMC/EMI considerations, IC functionality, etc., knowledge of wiring systems, power transmission distribution considered a plus
- Familiarity with Altium, OrCAD, Eagle. Familiarity with AutoCAD is considered a plus.
- Proficient communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, self-motivated
- Ability to impact individually or as a collaborative member of a team, capable of working well with others but also autonomously with little direction
- Experience in starting projects, managing multiple priorities, and working effectively in the face of ambiguity
- Highly organized and detail-oriented individual
- Excellent presentation skills with a focus on communicating complex ideas clearly
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and synthesize data
- NCEES certificate in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or professional engineer (PE) in electrical engineering preferred
