About the Job
We are in need of an Electrical Engineer, PE.
Required:
- 6-12 years of experience in Electrical Engineering is required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia, or obtain through reciprocity within 3 months of start date
- Knowledge and application of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and their protection, both site and in-building
- Knowledge and application of backup power and uninterruptible power systems
- Functional knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with system modeling software (i.e. ETAP, SKM)
- Familiarity with lighting modeling software (i.e. AGI, Visual)
- Knowledge and application of building codes and standards
- Knowledge and application of sustainable design practices
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States
- Candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance
- Prior consulting experience is preferred
- Federal government design experience is preferred
- Building system design experience is preferred
- LEED accreditation is a plus
- LC certification is a plus
Job Details:
- Lead project teams in preparation of construction documents detailing creative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions over a variety of construction delivery methods for federal, municipal, university, and industrial clients
- Lead the design for all aspects of vertical and horizontal electrical systems including normal and backup power, interior and site lighting, grounding, and lightning protection
- Prepare project narratives, studies, technical specifications, and complete drawing packages
- Develop models of power systems and perform detailed short circuit calculations, coordination studies, and arc flash hazard assessments
- Create schematic diagrams such as one-lines and riser diagrams, control system wiring diagrams, and network connection diagrams
- Analyze systems for vulnerabilities and reliability
- Perform detailed site inspections to collect field data in support of successful project execution
- Support construction and commissioning activities
- Work collaboratively with clients and A/E disciplines to implement coordinated technical solutions that support client objectives
- Provide engineering oversight and direction to a team of junior engineers and designers
- Provide leadership and training to design team to further knowledge and career growth
- Effectively communicate project information to project manager, design and construction team members, and clients
- Be responsible for quality and accuracy of your work as well as the work of design team members under your direction
- Work collaboratively with the electrical practice across all offices to advance internal standards and aid in the development of your colleagues
- Demonstrate professional skills including peer leadership, oral and written communication skills, collaboration across multiple disciplines, and the ability to represent the company in various settings
