We are looking for a senior-level electrical engineer who has extensive experience in leading multi-discipline, electrical-driven projects to fill the role of Project Technical Leader (PTL) to advance our growth in the MEP/energy market. The PTL’s role is to develop and drive the technical vision of the project, working closely with the Project Manager (PM) and reporting directly to the PM. The PTL is responsible for the coordination of the technical content of projects, with a focus on preemptive, preventive, and proactive approaches to delivery that mitigate rework and/or errors.
As a PTL-focused senior electrical engineer, you will provide senior-level expertise for current and future MEP/energy projects and be a contributor to CDM Smith’s transformational growth in the electrification market. As the PTL on projects you will be responsible for the following six key aspects of project delivery:
• Drive the project's technical vision.
• Drive the cascading flow of information and decisions required to execute the project scope across a team with diverse skill sets.
• Ensure that the right technical skill sets are on the project at the correct time.
• Drive the technical accuracy of all work products.
• Devise a corrective action plan in conjunction with the PM if/when challenges present themselves.
• Mentor and develop technical project staff.
• Be most successful in a flexible and remote work environment
We are open to hybrid schedules for this position. This position can also be based out of our Boston, Dallas, Fairfax, or Chicago CDM Smith office.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge and multi-discipline experience in planning, designing, and managing large-scale federal and municipal MEP/energy projects.
• Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
• Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and employees effectively, persuasively, and tactfully at all levels.
• Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional, and business materials.
• Experience in multiple project delivery types, including design-build, design-bid-build, construction manager at risk, etc.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting contracts, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to leverage a matrix organization to build relationships and drive desired results.
