Summary About the Position: As an Electrical Electronic Craftsworker, you will perform installation, modification, maintenance and repair of digital electronic equipment and associated devices related to data collection systems, centralized control systems, remote control systems, and communications systems at multiple purpose hydroelectric projects Responsibilities Electronic systems may include: Digital Processors, Communication Systems, Sequential Events Recorders, Remote Terminal Units, Centralized/Remote Digital Controls, Power Generation Equipment, Navigation Locks, Fishway/Spillway Controls and Equipment. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC CRAFTSWORKER ~ without more than normal supervision. Qualified applicants must have the ability to perform the common tasks associated with repair and maintenance of electronic equipment; this would include the ability to receive oral instructions as to the nature of repairs, installation, or maintenance to be made, and the ability to proceed to carry out the work, receiving advice and assistance as required. Such work includes cleaning, making adjustments and/or repairs, calibration and re-testing equipment including various relays, meters, recorders, controllers, indicators, radio transmitters and receivers, oscillators and amplifiers, electronic relays and other electronic and communication equipment.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: Required to stand for long periods on hard surfaces, climb stairs and ladders, work in awkward positions requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Requires a high degree of concentrated mental and visual attention as well as the ability to coordinate a high degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods. Must be able to distinguish colors. Required to lift parts and equipment weighing frequently up to, and occasionally over, 45 pounds. Working Conditions: Required to work inside and outside and is subject to bad weather (heat, cold, rain, snow). Work is often unpleasant due to noise, weather, dirt, grease, dust, etc. Subject to severe injury from working around and in close proximity to energized equipment and around moving machinery. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns, and electrical shock. Must wear appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing, and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
