Electrical Designer - M S Benbow and Associates

The Electrical Designer will support the electrical design team by applying technical knowledge in preparation of complete design packages for construction to be used for construction.

Responsibilities:

• Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, area classification, grounding, etc.
• Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors, terminations, etc.
• Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work.
• Collaborate with a design team of engineers, designers, and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.
• Occasionally support factory/site acceptance testing.
• Occasional field support of commissioning and/or troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Interpret and apply NEC and other electrical-related codes and standards.
• Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software, such as AutoCad, to create electrical design drawings.

Education/Experience:

• 7+ years of progressive experience as an Electrical Designer.
• Practical field experience with the installation, evaluation, testing, and commissioning of various medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment is a plus.
• Electrical technician experience (manufacturer, in plant or contractor) is a plus.
