Our progressive Engineering Team at our office in Austin, TX seeks a talented Electrical Designer (K12/Healthcare Building Design). We want someone with a desire to exceed expectations and a commitment to ensuring the built environment matches the design intent. We need someone who can give critical insight to project teams on a variety of construction types to help our clients achieve their goals. Bottom line… we want only the best.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT AT O'CONNELL ROBERTSON….

The Electrical Designer (K12/Healthcare Building Design) will be responsible for working with engineering team members and coordinating consultant responsibilities of studies, design, or construction documents of various scale projects.

• Work in a team environment
• Work collaboratively with our firm’s integrated engineers, architects and interior designers in Austin, San Antonio, and Houston
• Perform site surveys and coordinate with the electric utility for assessment of renovation or new construction needs
• Design building electrical systems including power distribution and lighting design, along with familiarity of fire alarm and low voltage systems
• Coordinate construction documents for small to medium-sized projects
• Review Construction Administration related items and perform site observations during construction
• Understand codes, standards, and guidelines related to the practice of building design
• Become familiar with software for performing electrical loads, short circuit analysis, and lighting calculations

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT O'CONNELL ROBERTSON…

We’re looking for passionate, driven self-starters. Beyond that, you’ll need…

• EIT preferred
• Revit experience required
• 3+ years of experience
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent is preferred
