We have an immediate need for an Electrical Designer to join our onsite team based in Benicia, CA. This is a site based, full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits including a 401K match. This is a unique position to work closely with our senior staff to obtain hands on experience. As a member of our team, you will work in a schedule-driven, collaborative environment working closely with our client and onsite team. This position will report into the onsite program lead and work closely under the direction of our lead electrical designer. This position requires in-person interactions and an on onsite presence Monday - Friday at the client site. This position has the option to work an approved alternative schedule.
Compensation: $60-85p/h *anticipated hourly rate may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.

As a Field Service Electrical Designer at Eichleay, you will work closely with the client and with Eichleay project teams to complete the design of our ongoing electrical support projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparation and revisions to detail and assemble drawings using Computer Aided Drafting Systems (CAD). You will coordinate and consult with Engineers to create designs, layouts, and detailed components/systems. You will review and analyze technical specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to prepare drawings and assist in design. You will receive supervision from a Field Services Team Lead.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Electrical Design Requirements:
- Ability to develop electrical design packages for refinery electrical systems that meet client and site standards.
- Ability to work with various disciplines to determine scope for refinery process system up to 480V and 5kV motor control circuits that meet electrical engineering and maintenance expectations. Can also provide field construction support as required.
- Ability to develop designs for 120V, up to 35kV power distribution systems with limited engineering guidance.
- Works with engineering to develop basis of design packages and support engineering studies.
- Understands site processes and procedures and is able to provide design support at all phases of a project, from feasibility scoping to as-built.
Maintenance Support Requirements:
- Familiar with refinery operations on site to provide field support as required. Typically for drawing searches to field verify existing installations or to as-build as-found items.
- Ability to provide design support for maintenance department projects as assigned.
Turnaround Support:
- Experience with developing electrical design packages for Capital and TA projects.
- Able to work in TA environment to support discoveries that require design support.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of related work experience in refining is required.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, Excel, and Word to generate construction packages for field Electrical work direction that include: a work summary, equipment quotes for procurement, drawings, data sheets, nameplate schedules, etc.
- Understanding and ability to create, update or modify – P&ID’s, Loop Diagrams, Connection Diagrams, Data/Spec Sheets, Installation Details, Block Diagrams, Schematic diagrams, Terminal/Junction box layout and connection, layouts, and plan drawings.
- Working knowledge of the NEC codes and ability to calculate wire fills and conduit routing.
- Working knowledge of NFPA, ISA and IEEE Standards.
- Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; or specialized courses in design, electronics, electrical; or Certificate from an Instrumentation Technical School or equivalent.
- Experience in the specification (including completing data sheets in SPI) and application of various field instrumentation including transmitters, flow meters, control valves and other field devices is desirable.
- Ability to be badged for PSM governed facility which require TWIC card and in-depth drug screening.
- Able to evaluate equipment in the field, including climbing ladders, flights of stairs, etc.

- Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
- Job duties will generally be performed at a Client’s office, client site, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Day to day job direction will typically be lead by our Clients designated project leader.
