Our clients Interventional Spine Business (IVS) business unit is a rapidly growing team that specializes in partnering with our Interventional Radiologist customers to develop innovative new products. Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a dynamic up-and-coming engineer to spearhead new electrical subsystem designs on our next-generation programs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop the skills of your junior peers, hone your electrical skills on challenging architectures, and to deliver amazing new products to the market.
POSITION PROFILE (Major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities)
- Independently design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices
- Develop and apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods
- Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing
- Conduct advanced problem-solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements
- Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs
- Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment
- Advance solutions by applying in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market and competitive offerings
- Support Voice of Customer sessions internally and with clinicians
- Be proficient with and mentor others in usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations
- Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a leader on the team
- Contribute to product development from concept through release
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 4+ years of embedded circuit design or electrical subsystem design.
- Electrical design experience
- Electrical components
- PCBA - design
- IC 60601 medical device standard
- EMC or EMI
- Electric controls
- Radiofrequency / Wireless technologies
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
