Electrical Design Engineer III - Business Control Systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop final design documents based on red-marked instructions from Engineering with minimal supervision, including Connection Diagrams, Laydown Drawings, Schematics, etc. (75% of role)
• Review and check the work of other designers for accuracy and completeness (10% of role)
• Compare vendor documents with design documents to ensure alignment (5% of role)
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track various projects (5% of role)
• Participate in field walkdowns to collect accurate information for the design process (5% of role)

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the Nuclear Industry
• Technical Skills: At least 10 years of experience with 2D Microstation/AutoCAD (Microstation is preferred)
• Design Expertise: Proficient in creating and interpreting moderate to complex design drawings, including Connection Diagrams, Laydown Drawings, and Schematics
• Electrical Knowledge: Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution, motor controls, and interfacing industrial processes with DCS and/or PLC systems
• Mentoring: Ability to mentor and collaborate with Junior Designers
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with basic programs in the Microsoft Windows Suite
• Work Environment: Ability to work in an office setting and perform field work in the plant, including system walkdowns and field support for modifications
• Safety: Capable of wearing personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, etc.) and meeting Nuclear entry requirements, including passing a drug test
• Personal Traits: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, effective communicator, and capable of raising concerns as needed

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required
