Clinton Electric Co. is a leading electrical company in the Greater Baltimore Area. For over 50 years we have provided responsive electrical service for our residential, commercial and generator customers. We currently have a new Senior Management position opening in our Commercial Department. This position will report directly to the president of the company and manage the commercial department with a staff of around 20 people.
The role of the Commercial Manager is to provide support and monitoring daily to optimize the workflow of our people and the engagement of our customers. Success will be growing the department while maintaining profitable responsive service for our commercial customers.
The commercial department is a leader in the installation and servicing of electric vehicle service equipment, material handling equipment installations, petroleum service and wiring of convenience and other small standalone stores.
The knowledge and experience required: We would like to find a manager with a background in electric or construction field - must have strong understanding of the P&L and balance sheet - must have great and proven people skill. This position has the ability for quick advancement. Salary may be further negotiated for a candidate with a proven background in a similar business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to coordinate our field electricians and our sales/project managers and dispatchers daily for optimal efficiency.
- Responsible for selection, training and development of staff as well as managing all employees in the department.
- Support the sales/project managers with the development of project scopes, estimates, approval documentation, arrangements, installation strategies, commissioning, start-up and monitoring of all projects, including meeting of sales and profit goals.
- Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision making and employee relations skills within a diverse workforce environment. Motivator with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Support and review estimates, approval documentation, arrangements, installation strategies, commissioning, and start-up.
- Must take complete ownership of the success of the department and take responsibility for ensuring integrity both personally and professionally while demonstrating genuine concern for the team.
- Must be a team player working and integrating with our other departments as well as our HR and Accounting staff.
- Knowledgeable with safety compliance programs with a strong emphasis on safety, quality (workmanship/attention to detail) and housekeeping.
- Must have demonstrated abilities to operate within a planned budget and manage cost within established goals.
- Ability to provide critical feedback and utilize coaching as a proactive means of creating change in others.

Required Skills:
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.

- Ability and proven experience estimating commercial projects and using estimating software.
- Ability to prepare detailed work scopes and interpret and prepare work contract specifications and requirements.
- Ability to run our weekly planning and sales meetings.
- Proven record of managing people in a similar department.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000 to $105,000 per year with the ability to earn a 25% performance bonus.
