About the Job
As an Electrical and Controls Technician you will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining electrical power circuits and equipment, work on control and automation systems, as well as electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, pump stations, compressor stations, and measurement facilities.
Responsible for:
All activities related to electrical and control integrity including design, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and adjust various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems.
General upkeep, maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping duties of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment.
Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems.
Advanced engine/compressor/pump analytical testing and troubleshooting
The completion of appropriate documentation and
Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
Lead efforts to develop and implement changes because of the analytical testing.
Evaluation/development/implementation/maintenance of facility grounding systems.
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
Oversee the construction, maintenance and/or work activities performed by third parties.
Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
Operate electronic test instruments, have experience in low to medium voltage, have an excellent record of safe work practices, and consistently deliver high performance results.
Preparing drawings of electrical circuits
Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams
Applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
National Electric Codes
Estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with electrical and control systems.
Complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame
High School Diploma or a minimum of 2 years equivalent experience)
a valid US driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
Associate degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline preferred
A Journeyman or Master electrical license desired
Prior work experience in the natural gas, CO2 and/or crude oil industry, working with instrumentation, electronics, and control systems desired
Proficiency level in MC Office applications preferred
Understanding of process controls and processing fundamentals preferred
Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems preferred
Knowledge and experience with high pressure gas and liquids, processing equipment, medium voltage motors and associated equipment, pumps and reciprocating or gas turbine engines and compressors desired
