About the Job
Essential Duties
- Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all engine controls, control systems, PLC’s, propulsion controls, and power generation equipment
- Assembly, construction, wiring, and testing of control systems,
- Make repair recommendations to customers, and order appropriate parts to complete repairs
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules
- Utilize measuring equipment including multimeters, ammeters and megohmmeters for diagnosis and repairs
- Perform load testing via dry type load bank test equipment and perform building tests utilizing automatic transfer switch and related controls
- Special testing as required
- Other duties as assigned
Safety
- Develop relationships with coworkers to better understand the processes and culture that affect safety.
- Influence safety by evaluating safety performance, participating in safety meetings, targeting areas needing improvement and developing initiatives to impact the areas.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable of Safe Work Policy.
Experience
Preferred- Proficient with computers and Microsoft systems
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Electrical AC /DC theory. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings
- High School diploma or Associated Degree in Electrical / Electronics preferred but not required
Education
Preferred- High School or better
