Electrical Controls Engineer – 1st Shift
Opportunity to join a respected leader in their niche. Automated Production Environment is clean (GMP) and climate controlled. Utilize your PLC troubleshooting and edit knowledge in this key role.
The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of GMP manufacturing and packaging equipment. Works with mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
Summary
• Completes preventive and proactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns on equipment. Day to day trouble shooting, repair, and installation of low & high voltage industrial electromechanical & control systems for utility and production equipment.
• Utilizes root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.
• Works with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Ladder Logic.
• Utilizes RSLogix and Allen Bradley Software to program and troubleshoot PLC driven systems.
• Diagnoses PLC errors to restore faulted equipment after power outages.
• Documents existing and new equipment, control, and power system installation.
• Analyzes test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Prioritizes work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.
• Repairs and maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement, as necessary.
• Observes and tests the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
• Operates newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Reviews maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety standards.
• Support the facility's food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results.
• Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
• Technical proficiency field applicable software applications.
