Overview:TRC is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Inspector to support our team in the Riverside CA area. This role will focus on all aspects of required field and office construction work.
Responsibilities:- Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports documenting contractor labor, equipment, daily construction progress, project site visitors, non-conforming work, safety issues, traffic control, field measured quantiles, field discussions with the contractor and public, and daily project photographs, labor compliance interviews and etc.
- Coordinate with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project.
- Read and interpret Standard Specifications, Standard plans, project plans and specifications.
- Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance.
- Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures.
- Inspect construction (based on Caltrans Standards)
- Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to work nighttime.
a. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an electrical engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
OR
Graduation from a four-year curriculum in electrical, electronic or computer engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (ABET).
b. A documented minimum four (4) years of demonstrated experience in in construction inspection of highways or major public works projects performing the duties described in this contract, with two (2) of these four (4) years inspecting electrical work.
c. Capable of assisting the Caltrans Resident Engineer or Contract Administrator in all aspects of required field and office engineering work including, but not limited to the following: inspection of non-
i. Knowledge and experience with equipment used in electrical construction inspection and construction office engineering.
ii. Knowledge of computers, computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others); Critical Path Method (CPM) software such as Primavera Project Planner (P3, P6) and SureTrak, or any updated version, as a minimum; Scheduler Analyzer Pro; and Microsoft Project.
iii. Knowledge and experience with principles of effective communication.
iv. Knowledge and experience with monitoring labor compliance.
v. Knowledge subcontracting laws and policies.
vi. Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit.
vii. Knowledge of Caltrans Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual.
viii. Proper background clearance, as necessary, when performing work on or near the rail system.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
