GEM was the first commercially-produced, street-legal low-speed vehicle in the United States. JOB SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration and troubleshooting of the electrical systems on LSVs / Industrial Electric Vehicles in the WAEV portfolio. This includes the market leading GEM vehicles and the iconic Taylor-Dunn vehicle line. This individual will support all aspects of engineering, specifically hardware such as sensors, motors, wire harnesses, and electrical control units. This is a very exciting, fast-paced team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Research, develop and prototype new electrical architectures for LSVs (Low Speed Vehicles) and industrial electric vehicles.
- Design of electrical components, including wire harnesses, in partnership with mechanical engineering counterparts to integrate it into the next generation of LSVs and Industrial electric vehicles
- Release electrical components into the prototyping and production process
- Develop, manage and maintain electrical BOM, drawings, and electrical engineering specification
- Develop and manage all documentations of the requirements, designs and validation report.
- Support all electrical engineering validation work to include testing of all system used in electrical vehicles
- Support the Customer Service team with ongoing issue analysis, technical documentation and trouble shooting trees
- Release high quality automotive drawings, components and systems
- Find best parts and best suppliers and develop competitive BOM costs
- Provide analysis and troubleshooting of the vehicles throughout the development process
- Provide technical guidance to the engineering teams, technicians and manufacturing workers
- Follow all company processes
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or higher
- Hands-on experience in building engineering prototypes
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
KNOWLEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Electric Vehicle development or relevant experiences
- Proven track record of automotive systems development and validation
