El Ranchito Camp Counselor - Girl Scouts Greater LA

Length of Work Assignment: Spring 2024-August 2024

Position Summary

The Camp Counselor participates in the implementation of G...Qualifications (Minimum Education and Experience)

Must be 18 years of age or be a high school graduate by the start of camp.

Must be available for 9.5 weeks of day camp and training dates that will be scheduled before camp.

Documented experience teaching or interacting with youth programs 

Must submit health history form prior to first day of work. 

Must be committed to work the entire camp season and attend all pre-camp trainings. 

Must hold a valid CPR/First Aid Certification by the start of camp. Training will be available.

Attend GSGLA signature events and certain other activities/events (including cookie cupboards, etc.) as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The incumbent must have the ability to visually monitor and physically assist campers weighing up to 200 lbs.

May lift to 50 lbs. periodically.  If more, the incumbent must request assistance.

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others. 

The incumbent must possess endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. 

The camp operates with daily exposure to various weather conditions and animals such as bugs, raccoons, and other wilderness animals common to the area.
