Job Details:
Our organization, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a seasoned EHS Specialist to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our commitment to safety and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols within the food and beverage manufacturing industry. With a minimum of 5 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
2. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Provide training and guidance to staff on EHS regulations and best practices.
4. Maintain accurate records of all EHS-related incidents and carry out thorough investigations into accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions.
5. Develop strategies to reduce incidents of illness, environmental accidents, and other issues that may affect public health.
6. Ensure the company is in compliance with all environmental permits and safety certifications.
7. Collaborate with management to develop corporate safety and health goals.
8. Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal EHS regulations and ensure the company is in compliance.
9. Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain good relations with community and environmental groups.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, procedures, and best practices.
4. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
8. Ability to train and guide staff on EHS best practices.
9. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
10. Strong organizational and project management skills.
