EHS Specialist
As the EHS Specialist, you will service and support multiple facility locations to address Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) needs. With a strong focus on employee well-being and continuous improvement, our client strives to be first-class in all aspects of EHS&S. Key Responsibilities
- Assist employees on-site with safety awareness and compliance across all facilities.
- Travel locally between facilities as needed to achieve departmental safety goals.
- Serve as the point of contact for EHS&S issues.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and other training sessions as needed.
- Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and safety reviews.
- Report incidents and participate in root cause analyses.
- Respond to on-site emergencies.
- Prepare weekly reports and conduct routine audits.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to conduct and review Job Hazard Analyses, Risk Assessments, and implement risk reduction strategies.
- Support special projects with EHS oversight.
- Assess resources and equipment needs to achieve EHS&S goals.
- Collect performance data to create and maintain an EHS&S dashboard.
- Provide emergency response planning and training.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in EHS&S.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within your capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in EHS (minimum of 4 years required).
- Instructor certification is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency, including Spanish, is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and deliver quality work efficiently.
- Demonstrated passion and aptitude for environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial industries is preferred; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
The role requires manual dexterity to write, push, pull, lift as necessary, and walk through manufacturing facilities to inspect and review safety conditions.
